Interior Designer of The Year For Sure

Koopas are the only things that would make this incredible shelf better. The pipe is a nice touch, though.... but only if it would act as a trash can too.

You've Got Mail..

A mailbox...that looks like a computer, "You've Got Mail." Seriously, people have way too much free time on their hands... and it's $230!!

I Want This!

This is awesome! Check out this fiber optic wallpaper... If you want it now though, you'll have to blow $231 on just ONE roll. There are several color options, but it looks like you're limited to flowers as far as the design goes. Here's to bringing wallpaper back! I think it would be too much for a large room, but really cool for a dining nook or small living space.

Does Your Wine Need 25% of Your Fridge Space?

Side-by-side refrigerators are not a new phenomenon.... but adding a third section just for wine? The AEG-Electrolux Santo 75 598 KG offers this with a sleek design with glassed in sections and offers individual temperature controls. There is even an alarm to alert you to temperatures moving outside the desired range per section. But is this really all necessary? 25% of your space is just an OBSCENE amount to dedicate to just wine.

That's (Literally) Hot

Most of us are moving up, moving out and becoming first time home owners. Oh, the joy of picking out paint colors, tile and furniture... but I like looking beyond my budget (of ZERO) once in a while.
Seeing this new Bloch-Design all glass fireplace makes me dream of a modern home (even though I ultimately want something cozier and maybe even Mediteranean...)-- but seriously, is this not the coolest fireplace you've seen? It's also available in a rectangular shape or tinted glass... check out the link for more photos!

A Not So Full House...The Olsens Penthouse On the Market

Do you dream of being of the Olsen twins? I personally do not- but I wish I had their 12 room penthouse! Their "condo" - if you can even call it that - has amazing views of the Hudson River and will only cost you a cool $12 million (so like $1 million per room, seems reasonable). Since purchasing it in 2004 (to "attend" NYU) for $7.3 million, they haven't even stayed the night. Guess they're too busy eating or canoodling with Lance Armstrong. Check out more photos of the house below. Minimal furniture, no?

No one bit in 2005 when it was on the market for $9.2 million - do you think it will sell now in this depressed housing market?

Fake Window Decor

Two Japanese designers have created "Bright Blinds", which are blinds to be hung on blank walls to give the appearance of a window underneath.

Electroluminescent sheeting is responsible for the simulated daylight, and the amount of light emitted is controlled via the same methods as traditional blinds - a kind of neat concept. I mean, you can put one of these in a depressing no window room - like a cubicle!

Scratch n' Sniff... Wallpaper?

Let's take it back to the 5th grade... remember those scratch n' sniff stickers? The grape ones stand out in my mind... In any event, there is now a company that produces sratch n' sniff wallpaper! "Flavor Paper produces unique vintage, contemporary and custom handscreened wallcoverings that will add a burst of flavor to any environment."
Fragrance oils are microencapsulated into microscopic porcelain balls, which are then dipped in water-based adhesive and applied by silk screen to the paper. When scratched, the balls — which number in the millions — pop and release the fragrance. Good news for some obsessos... you can custom scent too!

Baller Shower

Sometimes I stare out of the window from my little desk and dream of the most perfect day at the beach (at Wet Willie's with the girls), the spa and then coming home to the Barbie (or Kimora Lee) dream home, with the dream maid, cook, chauffeur and shower. I may never have any of those... but I saw this shower and just had to incorporate it somehow...

Now, I realize it could just be the photography but this shower looks positively dreamy and ooooh so refreshing. Which is quite appropriate considering it's called "Dream Light." It's a chromatherapy rain canopy from Jaclo Industries that's designed to take the standard relaxing power of a shower and turn it up a notch with the emotional and soothing power of color. It's made of a stainless steel sheet in round, rectangle, or cube shapes with programmable LED lights that illuminate the water as it falls. It's almost as amazing as that Mandarin Oriental Miami shower and their heavenly mandarin scented soap...

Speaking of Monogramming...

My family is in the monogramming biz...so I've always had monogrammed sheets, monogrammed towels... even my gym shorts were monogrammed! In any event, Williams-Sonoma Home added embroidered bedding to its inventory recently… and I'm obsessed. I want a set of the Hotel Medallion sheets, which are made of this smooth sateen 300 count Egyptian cotton. The stitching has a feminine, modern-Moorish feel to it, and though it's pretty enough to stand on its own... why not add some initials? Junk it up! I would monogrammed mine with my initials and at only $6 more, why not? Maybe wash it down with a monogrammed bath curtain...
