A Revolution Is On Hand

The Can Grip snaps on to any standard aluminum can, providing the drinker with not only a handle, but a coaster. AAAAAAAH, future technology! And you won't believe this-- but they're cheap, only $10 for 6. But the real question is... where can I get some of that watermelon beer in the picture? And, more importantly, is it seedless?

Wake Up To An Orgasm Everyday...

Well..it's not quite what you think. This alarm clock promises to "wake you up in the morning to the invigorating moan of a woman having an orgasm." Umm... ok. Don't you think most men would sleep through this - no offense. And how weirded out would you be if you spent the night at some guy's house and THIS alarm clock went off? Then again if I saw this alarm clock next to his nightstand - I might mysteriously get a headache and run out the door.

New Product Alert!

I'm not much into sweets... but an amazing apple pie (especially a homemade one a la mode) is my weakness! Anyways, from now until November, Dreyer's is offering Apple Pie with pie crust pieces and chunks of gooey apple... not bad: 120 calories per serving and only 4 grams of fat (1/2 cup). This is NOT part of Dreyer's low fat line either...

For all of you who want Apple Pie ice cream on a normal basis, check out Whip n' Dip in South Miami... a Jimmy Carter (the President) favorite.

New iPods!

Yes! I want a new one! I think I'm going to get new Mini/Nano to run with...

iPhone: Apple also chopped the price of its biggest and best-selling 8-gigabyte iPhone model from $599 to $399, barely two months after it started selling them. The smaller 4GB phone, which had sold for $399, will be discontinued.

Nano: The most noticeably different change is to the Nano. The new model is significantly smaller and thinner than previous versions. Nevertheless, it comes with a larger 2.5-inch screen that can display video and starts at $149 for a 4GB version.

iTouch: It was the new iPod Touch, however, that stole the show at an Apple media and analyst event here. Touch is almost identical to the iPhone, except it lacks cell phone capabilities. It does come with Wi-Fi wireless Internet capabilities, however, a Web browser and direct connections to a new Wi-Fi iTunes music store. Thanks to a partnership between Apple and the Starbucks coffee chain, the phone will let users automatically download songs that are playing at Starbucks stores within Wi-Fi range. The new iPod Touch will be available later this month and sell for $299 for the 8GB model and $399 for the 16GB model.

Great For Dinner Parties

My mom just found this at "Teavana"...

A cup of tea, until now, has been something functional ... something useful on days you feel a cold coming on or have just had your heart broken. But who knew tea could be beautiful to look at? Display teas from Adagio unfurl in hot water, creating a "bloom" of tea leaves in the bottom of your cup. The teas are best served in a clear glass cup so you can easily see the blooming action. Boxes of ten display teas are available for $10 from Adagio in either jasmine-infused green tea, or black tea. This seems like a good thing to have on hand for last-minute gifts or for dinner parties. :)

Powdered Alcohol...

Apparently...this is pretty common in Europe already. But just think if you could bring a "Crystal Light" packet out- and its actually a mixed drink! The whole concept - from getting around the tax and the reduced shipping costs - is genius.

“The product is called subyou, manufactured by a company in North Rhine-Westphalia, and is marketed squarely at teenagers with slogans like “taste for not much dough” and “gets a good buzz going.” Add the powder to cold water, and consumers have an alcoholic drink containing either vodka or rum. “These are just as dangerous as the alcopops that came in the bottles,” Birgit Rehlender, nutrition expert at consumer affairs organization Stiftung Warentest told Der Spiegel weekly.

“While authorities were able to curtail the consumption of alcopops with a special tax on the drinks last August — which put them out of the reach of many teenage budgets — these new alcopops in powder form cost between 1.65 and 2.40 euros ($2.06 and $3.00) per package. Subyou is able to get around the tax because its product comes in powder form. The powder was first sold over the Internet, and word spread quickly among teenage circles that those under 18 could order off the Internet without fear of being asked for proof of age. However, according to Andrea Schauff, a nutritional expert at Hesse’s consumer protection organization, in many stores the powder is being sold to under-age kids even though a warning is printed on the packets: “Alcohol can be addictive — no sales to minors.”

New Car Alert

The Audi is expected to introduce its A5 this year (as well as the ultra fast A8)... but the A5 will basically have the same engine, interior, etc... as the A4, but with only 2 doors. No MSRP yet, but expected to compete with the 3 series coupe, Infiniti G Class... so probably around $38-40K? Nice looking.
