The Great Wheel of China

No, that's not a misprint. China is constructing the world's largest Ferris Wheel. It was supposed to be ready for the summer games, but apparently won't open until 2009. It will have 48 separate gondola-like pods, each capable of holding 40 passengers (for a total of 1920 people at one time!), and will reach a maximum height of 680 feet. This project is set to cost $99 million dollars... I'm telling you - those crazy Asian people are taking over!

99 million dollars for a STUPID WHEEL!!! 99 million dollars for 40 people in each bucket (so its not romantic or anything) to sit in a wheel and go around and around? Can't they think of ANYTHING else to do with 99 million dollars??? FEED HUNGRY PEOPLE? Send more children to school? ANYTHING???
