They are smuggled in blankets, tombstones, car parts... even puppies!1. Under increasing scrutiny, drug runners are using bizarre methods to try and slip their goods past customs. Customs officers discovered nearly 10.5 ounces of ecstasy tablets hidden inside a Mr. Potato Head toy sent to Australia from Ireland. Upon opening the parcel, the officers were greeted with the smiling face of the popular children's toy, which features a potato-like head and removable facial features. But when they removed a panel from the back of the toy, the officers found 10.5 ounces of ecstasy in a plastic bag.
2. A routine check at a postal sorting facility in the Netherlands turned up 10.5 ounces of cocaine stuffed into the carcasses of dead bugs. The insects were shipped to Amsterdam from Peru during the summer.
