Where to Marry A Millionaire?

This is always a good follow up from "What to Do If You Make More Than Your Man"... :) In the interest of time, I only gave you a few stats... however, here are the top cities in no particular order... (for my movie buffs, the photo comes from the classic movie, "How to Marry a Millionaire."

1. Los Alamos, N.M. - Alamos has fewer than 8,000 households, yet one in five has a net worth of more than a million dollars. The laboratory (still functional) employs some of the government's highest-paid nuclear researchers who, due to a shockingly low percentage of women in science, are mostly men (median age 42 and only a 61% marriage rate). This place is a gold mine. Better yet, the prospects are rich and smart.

2. Naples/Marco Island, Fla. - With more golf holes per capita than any other place in the country, men with deep pockets are hitting the links in Naples. Boasting a large population of wealthy retirees, this might be more "Sugar Daddy" territory than a hotbed for young businessmen but with age comes experience (wink, wink).

3. Fairfield County, Conn. - Only an hour northeast of New York, this metro area forms a hotbed of corporate wealth. Not only do high-paid executives who commute to the city look to these pseudo suburbs as a place to settle their families, but Bridgeport, Stamford, Greenwich and Westport are home to Xerox, Priceline.com, Subway Restaurants and the U.S. headquarters of Virgin Atlantic. As a result, nearly one in seven households have a net worth of at least $1 million.

4. Hilton Head, S.C.

5. Louisville, KY

6. San Jose, Ca.

7. Vero Beach, Fl.

8. Washington, D.C.

9. Los Angeles County

Ironically, this link came from the Ellen Degeneres show... heh.
